The company
It was in Monteux, a small village in the Provençal county of Venaissin, that the firm Charles Faraud was founded. The locally picked fruit and vegetables, bathed in sunshine, make up the core ingredients of our succulent recipes. In the beginning the family firm was a simple cottage industry; the quest for high quality produce used in collective catering being the trend of the time.
The movement from a cottage industry into the industrial age was undertaken when Christian Faraud, grandson of Charles Faraud, became director in 1976.
Quality control, which was the key
to the company’s success at the outset, has remained at the forefront of
Charles Faraud’s requirements and to this end the entire production process is
surveyed by the HACCP system.
Originally the firm had a turnover of 3 million francs and employed twenty people. Today it is Charles Faraud’s capacity for invention that enables the firm to post a turnover of 26.56 million Euros and employ 100 people.
Initially the firm worked with the big distributors in order to take advantage of their brand names but we have since forged our own market identity by extolling the beauty of the region. At the same time we have claimed a place in the international market.
